Why Hire the Beamex FB660
- Dual-zone control maintains even temperature distribution through the insert, improving probe immersion consistency and measurement repeatability.
- Strong thermal stability ensures accurate results once the block has settled at setpoint.
- Rapid ramp-up and cool-down times minimise waiting between calibration points and improve field productivity.
- Built-in stability indication provides clear visual and audible confirmation when the block is ready for measurement.
Core Capabilities
- Automatic high-temperature warning system alerts operators when block temperature exceeds safe handling limits—even if the unit is powered down.
- Clear, high-contrast display ensures readability in outdoor and plant environments.
- Intuitive menu navigation and tactile function keys reduce setup time and operator error.
- Rugged housing construction protects against impacts, scratches, and harsh site conditions.

Typical Use Cases
The Beamex FB660 is well suited to field calibration tasks across critical infrastructure and industrial operations, including:
- Heavy industrial temperature verification
- Field calibration of RTDs, thermocouples and various temperature sensors
- Shutdown, outage and maintenance activities
- Remote or mobile calibration work where lab access is impractical
- Integrated use with documenting calibrators for full traceability
Hire Notes
- All calibration equipment supplied by Ozcals is pre-checked prior to dispatch and calibrated annually to strict accuracy standards. Current calibration certificates are supplied upon hire.
- The FB660 can be used as a standalone dry block for routine instrument verification where paper-based calibration documentation is used. To utilise Beamex’s digital documentation capability through CMX software, the unit must be paired with an MC6 documenting calibrator and the appropriate communication setup. Just let us know your requirements at the time of booking and we’ll ensure you’re supplied with the right equipment.
- Supplied ready for site use with: power lead, serial-to-serial cable, serial-to-USB cable, Type E, K & T thermocouple leads, vernier callipers, sleeve puller, three multi-hole insert sleeves, and the following fixed sleeves: Aluminium 27/64", Brass 31/64", Aluminium 9/16", Aluminium 41/64", and Brass 49/64".
- We also include three blank sleeves that can be drilled onsite to suit your specific probe diameters — we understand not every Temperature measuring device is a standard size. Once drilled, just return them with the unit and we’ll retain them for future use.
- The FB660 is suitable for field calibration; however, to extend the life of the unit and minimise nuisance tripping, it is recommended that the unit be supplied from a dedicated power circuit. A circuit interruption will cause the calibration process to fail and restart.
- To minimise dust ingress, place the FB660 on a clean surface or slightly elevate the unit during use to reduce the likelihood of particulates entering through the cooling fan.
- The FB660 is supplied in a protective roller case and should be used during transport and site movements to protect the unit.
